Robben Ford is a ‘musician’s musician’ with an illustrious career which began in the 1970s playing blues in San Francisco Bay, USA. Since then, he has produced many solo albums, collaborated with greats like Sonny Landreth, Larry Carlton and Vinnie Coliauta, and worked as a sideman with Joni Mitchell, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and many, many more.
With a string of GRAMMY nominations to his name and voted in the top 100 guitarists of the century, he is known for his blues playing, but is equally at home in a wide variety of musical contexts.
On his new album, ‘Bringing It Back Home’, Ford says “The idea was to not re-invent the wheel. Everyone knows the blues. My concept was to put great players together with songs that have deep roots and rich emotional terrain, and to just let something beautiful happen. As it turns out, that’s exactly what occurred.”
