Youth Programme

Working collaboratively with young people across all music genres and styles is central to our ethos and we've developed a wide range of ongoing youth programmes and special projects both in The Sage Gateshead and across the region.  We're always interested to hear new ideas from young people to help us keep the programme fresh, relevant and inclusive.

In The Sage Gateshead

Look out for our summer and half term special events.  In past years, holiday schools focused on; making a musical in a week, carnival and circus skills, DJ and MC skills, steel pans, samba, singing and more.

Mongrel UK, music theatre that bites, is a weekly music theatre programme for 14 - 25 year olds run in partnership with the Northeast Refugee Service.  Members use music, dance and drama to create vivid performances exploring experiences from their many different cultures and backgrounds. Membership is currently closed, but recruitment will re-open in September.

Our weekly Youth Percussion sessions, focus on learning and performing wildly explosive samba and other street percussion styles.  New members welcome, no experience necessary.

Gateshead Children's Choir for eight to thirteen year olds meets on Wednesdays from 6.30 - 8pm.  No experience is necessary, just a love for singing.  New members welcome.
