The forum for REFLECT co-mentors.


The REFLECT team are based at The Sage Gateshead and are available for information, advice and guidance. We are also supported by Regional Advisory Groups in each region and a National Advisory Group to ensure that REFLECT is actively contributing to and learning from national and regional debates on creativity, education and skills.

Regional Advsiory Groups

Regional Advisory Groups have helped to recruit for the programme and match co-mentoring pairs. The groups include representation from Arts Council England, Creative Partnerships, Museums, Libararies and Archives Council, Regional Development Agencies, Business Link and more.

We are working with them to ensure that REFLECT leaves a regional legacy.

Creative Partnerships
The Government's flagship creativity programme for schools and young people, Creative Partnerships is managed by Arts Council England and funded by the DCSF and DCMS.

Museums, Libaries and Archives Council (MLA)
The MLA Partnership is government's agency for museums, galleries, libraries and archives. They deliver strategic leadership in the nine English regions and collaborate with partners across the UK.

Arts Inform
In 2003, Arts Inform was commissioned by Creative Partnerships to establish a mentoring scheme for teachers. Arts Inform specialises in building relationships between professionals in the creative industries and schools and colleges.
      
Cultural Leadership Programme
The cultural leadership programme is a two-year Treasury funded investment in excellence in leadership across the creative and cultural industries. By supporting an ambitious range of activities and opportunities, the programme aims to nurture and develop world class, dynamic and diverse leaders for the 21st Century. 

Teacher Development Agency (TDA)
TDA works with schools to develop the workforce and ensure that schools can recruit good-quality, well-trained people. We support schools to provide extended services for parents, children and young people.

Centre for the Use of Research and Evidence in Education (CUREE)
CUREE works to support and develop effective use of research and evidence in education in order to improve practice and policy and to help raise standards. CUREE developed the National Coaching and Mentoring Framework with the TDA.

Creative and Cultural Skills
The Sector Skills Council is an industry-led, campaigning organisation for advertising, crafts, cultural heritage, design, music, performing, literary and visual arts. Through better skills development, their aim is to secure world beating creative enterprise and more diverse cultural industries.

National Endowment for Science and the Arts (NESTA)
NESTA is the largest single endowment devoted exclusively to supporting talent, innovation and creativity in the UK. Their mission is to transform the UK's capacity for innovation. They invest in early stage companies, inform innovation policy and encourage a culture that helps innovation to flourish.

DEMOS
Demos is the think tank for 'everyday democracy'. Their aim is to put this idea into practice by working with organisations in ways that make them more effective and legitimate. They focus on six areas: public services; science and technology ; cities and public space; arts and culture; identity and global security.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)
DCMS aim to improve the quality of life for all through cultural and sporting activities, to support the pursuit of excellence and to champion the tourism, creative and leisure industries. They aim to increase the productivity of the creative industries, raise their profile, and support their development so that the UK can become the world's creative hub.

Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF)
Formerly the Department for Education and Skills, DCSF leads work across Government to ensure that all children and young people stay healthy and safe; secure an excellent education and the highest possible standards of achievement
enjoy their childhood; make a positive contribution to society and the economy; have lives full of opportunity; and are free from the effects of poverty.

With the help of this group, we aim to share the emerging lessons and insights quickly and effectively across a wide national network.
