Opportunities for Schools

The range of opportunities we offer schools includes:

School visits

The half day programme is designed to suit your school, but your first time will always include an introductory talk, a tour of the building and an active workshop with resident or visiting musicians.

Vocal Union

Part of our Access to Excellence Music Manifesto Pathfinder Programme, Vocal Union gets the whole school singing, through workshops, training, classroom delivery, curriculum projects, repertoire sharing and more.

Bring on the Boys

A lively, engaging programme of vocal activity aimed at KS2 and KS3 boys.

My Musician

This bespoke programme is devised with individual schools and organised around a year-long relationship with an individual musician, encompassing visits, performances and workshops.

Discover the...

A responsive programme of classroom visits designed to introduce children to a broad range of instruments and ways of playing them.

Special projects

One-off or extended projects of varied lengths with professional musicians in schools, such as Cracking Ceilidh Bands, Jazz Attack, or composition-to-performance projects related to concerts at The Sage Gateshead.

School Concerts

Concerts during the school day at The Sage Gateshead including Northern Sinfonia and performances by visiting artists from across the whole range of genres and styles.

Resources

We have developed a range of practical, inspiring resources for use in the classroom, and all schools participating in our projects receive relevant resources as part of the package.
