Do you play the flute? Or the clarinet? Or the oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, timpani or tuned percussion?
Talented young woodwind, brass and percussion players aged 13-19 make up this remarkable wind ensemble. With coaching from Northern Sinfonia players and professional guest conductors, members enjoy a challenging repertoire.
Among memorable performances home and abroad, Sinfonic Winds has performed a new concerto with the Apollo Saxophone Quartet, a premiere of a percussion concerto with Simone Rebello, 'A Lindisfarne Rhapsody' on Lindisfarne with Northern Sinfonia's Principal Flute Juliette Bausor, and given regular concerts of wind chamber music at The Sage Gateshead.
The fee for the 2010/11 season (including two short residentials) will be £280. (Any tours are charged as extra). Bursaries are available to assist with fees; please ask for details.
