Folkestra

Folkestra is a unique folk ensemble whose repertoire includes traditional music and members' own compositions. With two successful CDs and a growing national reputation, it has performed at numerous concerts and festivals across the country from Towersey to Edinburgh, and most recently at the BBC Proms first ever Folk Day. Founded and directed by renowned Northumbrian musician Kathryn Tickell, the group enjoys the best folk tuition in the country, with other tutors including Lillias Kinsman-Blake and harpist Corrina Hewat. No previous experience of folk music is required and players of any instrument, including singers, are welcome to apply.
