Katabatic Winds

Forty highly talented young woodwind, brass and percussion players make up this charismatic wind orchestra. With coaching from Northern Sinfonia musicians and professional guest conductors, members enjoy a challenging and exciting repertoire. Among memorable performances home and abroad, it has performed a new concerto with the Apollo Saxophone Quartet, a premiere of a percussion concerto with Simone Rebello, and 'A Lindisfarne Rhapsody' on Lindisfarne with Northern Sinfonia's Principal Flute Juliette Bausor. Most players are of a standard equivalent to Grade 6 and above.
