Highly talented young woodwind, brass and percussion players make up this charismatic wind ensemble. With coaching from Northern Sinfonia musicians and professional guest conductors, members enjoy a challenging repertoire. Among memorable performances home and abroad, it has performed a new concerto with the Apollo Saxophone Quartet, a premiere of a percussion concerto with Simone Rebello, and 'A Lindisfarne Rhapsody' on Lindisfarne with Northern Sinfonia's Principal Flute Juliette Bausor.
In the Autumn term Sinfonic Winds takes the form of various chamber music groups with rehearsals taking place once a fortnight at The Sage Gateshead on a Sunday morning and during a two-day residential at October half term.
The wind band form will meet at Easter during the school holidays and this course will be residential.
The fee for the Autumn chamber music programme (including the residential) will be �190.
The fee for the residential wind band course will be �360.

Most players are of a standard equivalent to Grade 6 and above.
