Quay Voices

Trained by outstanding choral conductors and now widely recognized as one of the top youth choirs in the UK, Quay Voices is the regional mixed voice youth choir for singers aged 14-19.

The repertoire includes everything from traditional Inca melodies to Chilcott, Brahms and John Lennon and the choir enjoys performances in the concert halls of The Sage Gateshead, around the Northeast and further afield. It gives performances with Northern Sinfonia and its Chorus and an annual highlight for the choir is participating in Northern Sinfonia's Christmas concerts.

Rehearsals are generally fortnightly on Sunday afternoons during term time from September to May. They are overseen by Ed Milner and in addition the singers rehearse regularly with guest conductors, including David Lawrence, Alan Fearon and Simon Halsey.  Members also enjoy residential rehearsal weekends.

The fee for the 10/11 season (including two residential weekends) will be £360. (Tours are charged as extra). Bursaries are available to assist with fees; please ask for details.
