From steel pans to orchestras, our regional youth ensembles cover a range of musical genres and are open to the most talented young musicians from across the North East and Cumbria.
You need to be between 13 and 19 to become a member, and must audition for your place each year. If you are also a member of the Weekend School (see below) your ensemble becomes part of your curriculum so you'll be able to fit everything in!
There are regular Sunday rehearsals for each group during term time, fortnightly in most cases, as well as an intensive residential session once a year. The groups also get to perform in all amazing performance spaces at The Sage Gateshead, in addition to national and even international concert invitations
