Weekend School

Top quality music tuition for talented young musicians aged 7-19 in a supportive and welcoming environment.

There is a wide variety of group sessions and individual lessons available in a range of styles for both singers and instrumentalists, including the opportunity to take part in workshops with visiting artists. Practical studies are underpinned with the appropriate technical and theoretical studies. Students are accepted on the basis of their musical potential as well as their achievement so far.

Our tutors are outstanding professional musicians and music educators from the Northeast of England and beyond, covering a wide range of genres and expertise.  Being a member of the Weekend School opens up many amazing opportunities to work and perform with extraordinary professional musicians. Weekend School Students have already had the privilege of working with artists like Imogen Cooper, Tim Garland, Willard White, Jian Wang, Guy Barker and Norma Winstone.

We encourage our students to continue with their musical life outside of the Weekend School, at school or within the local community, and believe your involvement with The Sage Gateshead will greatly benefit these activities.
