Community Music Spark Diary 16 November

Posted on 19 November 2012

Community Music Spark is Sage Gateshead’s community music training programme for adults with learning disabilities. We currently work with four volunteer participants, three of whom have attended previously on work placements from MENCAP National College Dilston, Northern Counties College and Dryden School. Graeme: this week, out of the 26 rooms in the MEC, we’ve been given the smallest possible space! cosy!

Paul: snug as a bug in a rug.

Andrew: we met in the cafe as usual.

Marc:: We joined by another visitor today, a community music degree student called Krystle.

Andrew: We had planned to split the PRS inclusion group in to two different rooms and do some recording this week.

Graeme: but the computer didn’t seem to work properly so we had to formulate a plan B.

Marc: and it worked out very well, as we were able to write another verse to the groups song.

John: I’m really enjoying the rapping part for Valerie, and Krystle thought it was good too.

Paul: she said she thought it was very unique and made the song different.

Marc: as discussed last week, Andrew agreed to shave his beard off and keep his moustache.

Andrew: But I thought better of it! My beard is part of my identity, so it’s staying!

John: Barry Graham…

The Community Music Spark team will return next week.
