Northern Sinfonia is one of Europe's most exciting chamber orchestras. Under its Music Director, Thomas Zehetmair, Northern Sinfonia's repertoire covers the full range of Western classical music from early baroque, through the classical and romantic periods, to specially commissioned new work.
Donations to The Sage Gateshead support the whole organisation, including Northern Sinfonia, but if you wish to support the orchestra specifically you can choose to become a Northern Sinfonia Friend, a Principal Partner or a member of the 400 Club.
Northern Sinfonia Friends
Friends are supporters of Northern Sinfonia, through Northern Sinfonia Trust, who pay an annual membership subscription.
In addition to the satisfaction of actively supporting a world class orchestra, Friends receive the following benefits which are valid for one year from date of payment:
- Quarterly newsletter
- Advance details of The Sage Gateshead's Classical Subscription Series
- Invitations to Friends Evenings featuring Northern Sinfonia players
- Invitations to open rehearsals
- 10% discount on Northern Sinfonia CDs and other merchandise

Principal Partners
There are opportunities for direct association with your favourite Northern Sinfonia 'Chair' or musical instrument through our Principal Partners scheme.
Principal Partners support the work of Northern Sinfonia through an association with one of Northern Sinfonia's Principal 'Chairs'. Principal Partners are credited in Northern Sinfonia programmes next to their 'Chair' of choice. They also receive invitations to an annual social event attended by Northern Sinfonia players, and enjoy other opportunities to engage with and learn more about the orchestra. Monies raised directly support the work of Northern Sinfonia through Northern Sinfonia Trust.
There are currently three opportunities remaining for an association with the Leader, Co-Leader and the Director positions.

400 Club
Northern Sinfonia Chorus 400 Club was formed by members of the Chorus to raise funds to support Northern Sinfonia Chorus.
Members buy one or more numbers at a cost of £12 each. Prize draws take place on the first Sunday of each month with prizes of £100, £50 and £25 and runners up receiving CDs.
