This year's Summer Chamber Music Series and, in fact, the 2009/10 Classical Season, comes to a close with three stunning works for wind. Mozart's Clarinet Quintet is a mellow piece despite being written towards the end of his increasingly difficult life. Poulenc's Sextet is full of French wit. We end with Dvořák’s masterful ‘Serenade for Winds’ with its Slavonic sounds and sonorous harmonies.
