The Folkworks Hexham Gathering is a true highlight of the folk year and one of the country’s leading festivals for providing performance opportunities for young musicians, singers and dancers. It brings top folk and traditional performers together with a host of hugely talented young singers, dancers and instrumentalists including some of the brightest rising stars in the new generation of folk musicians.

Each year Hexham and Tynedale come alive with infectious musical energy running from village and school halls through to the streets and parks. There are some stunning performances, ceilidhs, sessions, informal performances and more. As well as the fantastic line-up of professional artists performing this year, there are some other great performers from across the region and beyond.

Folkworks Hexham Gathering 2010 will feature The Demon Barber Roadshow, Emily Portman, Christi Andropolis and Rachael McShane, Andy May, Mabon, Spinndrift, Three Sharp Knives, Down in the Attic, Toble, Folkestra, students from the Newcastle University Folk and Traditional Music degree course and many more!
